Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it to people who just want an MP3 player for running. It has 25 minutes of skipless play, but since it is a hard drive-based player, it does have to read the player once every 25 minutes. This is much better than it formerly was, but it still can be annoying if you are out on a several hour run. However, the multiple playlist capabilities are a wonderful addition for runners as you can format specific for different workouts. If you have the money and don't mind the skipping every half hour (or don't run more than 25 minutes at a time), then, aside from having less than wonderful earbuds, this is the perfect player. But for the majority of runners, the Ipod Mini is probably not worth the extra money.
